"

JEFF BOLDING

Drum Major for Justice (DMFJ) is a self-paced, online course of study. It is designed to equip persons of faith in the Christian tradition to become effective advocates and organizers for social justice.

The course is structured to help learning partners (participants) explore the history of the Black Church and Black-led liberation movements while applying those lessons to the contemporary challenges of systemic oppression.

By offering this course, JCSTS seeks to inspire transformation through a theology and practice of liberation deeply rooted in the traditions of the Black Church. The price for the course is $675.00.

The course is divided into four comprehensive units:

  • Examining the Underpinnings of Systemic Oppression and Anti-Black Racism

  • The Black Church, Black Liberation Theology, Womanist Thought, and Faith-based Black Nationalism

  • Patterns of Racism and Pathways of Resistance

  • Black-Led Liberation Movements: Constructing a Theology and Practice of Healing and Repair

This program is a call-to-action inviting participants to move beyond civility to radical reconciliation, equipping them with the tools, insights, and community support necessary to engage in transformative justice work.

It was truly a life-altering experience. Learned a lot and met some phenomenal people along the way. Much obliged to the JCSTS staff. They are amazing people that made this course worthwhile.

"

I came out of this class realizing how little I knew and how much more I had to learn, and knowing that once you learn the truth, it is impossible to unlearn it.  This class gave me the strength, knowledge, and desire to share the truth with others.

This course, while incredibly emotional, proved to be beyond all my expectations and honestly, it changed my life.  Not a day goes by, that I am not impacted by something I learned here.
