Advancing faith, justice, and compassion
JCSTS proudly acknowledges the partnership of funders who believe in our faith and justice mission, programs, and learning partners. We continue this journey of impact with your support! Thank you!
We are grateful to mark the 155th anniversary of Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary and the continued opportunity to address the faith and justice challenges in our circles with insights, tools, and conversations that make a positive impact on people’s lives.
We invite your participation and support in this season. Donate to our 155th Anniversary mission here.
Followers of Christ believe giving is more than a responsibility. It is an opportunity for us to gratefully and joyfully acknowledge that God is the source of all we have, and it is a means by which we participate with God in carrying out God's mission in the world.
What is God's Mission?
At JCSTS, we believe God's mission is bigger than any institutional mission we might devise--including the seminary's mission of advancing communities of faith, justice, and compassion through innovation in theological education!
We believe God's mission involves (1) proclaiming the gospel for the salvation of humankind; (2) providing shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship; (3) worshiping together divinely; (4) preserving the truth; (5) promoting social righteousness; and (6) exhibiting the 'Kindom' of Heaven to the world.
Why Give to JCSTS?
People of faith have to be taught how to carry out God's mission. Plain and simple. That's what seminaries do. And that's what JCSTS does. By giving to JCSTS, you share in the ministry of equipping people with knowledge and tools to carry out God's mission in today's complex, divisive world. As we see it, this is essential work. We are proud and deeply grateful to have you share in it with us.
