The Life and Times of the Historical Jesus

About

This course examines the life of Jesus of Nazareth through a historical and socio-political lens, setting aside traditional dogma to focus on archaeological evidence and academic research. We will analyze the cultural landscape of first-century Judea and Galilee to understand the environmental factors that shaped his ministry. The curriculum focuses on Jesus as a historical figure who navigated Roman imperial occupation and local religious politics. By exploring his parables and actions in their original context, participants will understand his role as a social reformer and a catalyst for justice movements. This program provides a factual foundation for those interested in the academic study of the origins of the Christian movement.
