This course provides a comprehensive study of the Psalms, exploring their historical origins, authorship, and theological framework. Students will examine the chronological development of the Psalter and the diverse literary forms used to express the human condition. Grounded in the tradition of the Black Church and Liberation Theology, the program highlights themes of communal lament, cries for justice, and the role of sacred poetry in responding to systemic oppression.
