This course examines the nature, purpose, and historical timelines of apocalyptic writing found in the Bible. Students will study the unique literary characteristics of this genre, focusing on how authors used symbolic visions and cosmic dualism to address communities in crisis. The curriculum covers major texts including Daniel and Revelation, exploring themes of divine justice, sovereignty, and the hope of restoration. By analyzing the socio-political contexts of these writings, participants will gain a factual understanding of how this literature functions as a response to systemic oppression and historical transition.
