This program examines the historical and contemporary commitment of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to educational equity. It traces the development of schools, colleges, and seminaries specifically built for African Americans and other marginalized groups across the United States. Participants will analyze the theological foundations behind the church's mission and the impact of these institutions on social justice and community leadership. The course provides a factual overview of how faith-rooted activism shaped the American educational landscape and continues to influence current institutional missions.
